How to BUY works of art with Apuliaaste

Once the sale of the valuables at auction has been set up, it is possible to place an offer by registering via the appropriate form. ApuliaAste reserves the right to:


  • not accept bids from those who have not completed registration within 24 hours before the auction starts;
  • request an advance payment of 20% (auction fees) on the bids sent.


Expenses to be paid by the principal

  • Resale rights

    DDS (Resale right) Resale right (Droit de Suite) - D.LGS. n ° 118 of 13/02/2006, in force since 9 April 2006 in Italy, i.e. the right of the author (living or deceased for less than 70 years) of works of figurative arts and manuscripts to receive a percentage on the price of sale of the originals of their works on the occasion of subsequent sales to the first. Warning: the law n. 34 of 25 February 2008 (Official Gazette, ordinary supplement, no. 56 of 6 March 2008), art. 11 modifies art 150 of the law on copyright (n. 633/41), providing for a different method of calculating the right. The new legislation is applicable from sales made from 21 March 2008 onwards. This right will be borne by the seller and will be calculated on the hammer or sale price equal to or greater than € 3,000 and cannot in any case exceed € 12,500, for each Lot. The amount of the right to be paid is determined as follows: 4% for sales up to € 50,000, 3% for the sales portion between € 50,000.01 and € 200,000.00, 1% for the sales portion between € 200,000.01 and € 350,000.00, 0.50% for the sale part between € 350,000.01 and € 500,000.00, 0.25% on the sale price over € 500,000. The resale right charged to the seller will be paid by ApuliaAste to SIAE on the basis of the provisions of the law.

  • Transport costs

    The costs of incoming transport and / or possible redelivery of the lots offered for sale are charged to the sender.

  • Lot acquisition

    For the acquisition of each lot, the buyer pays ApuliaAste a commission, equal to 4% + VAT of the hammer price for car auctions, while for the contemporary art auction the commission is 10% + VAT.

  • Other charges

    The insurance and transport costs for the delivery of the awarded lots are borne by ApuliaAste.

  • Tax regime

    The tax regime to be adopted for each transaction will be that suggested by the regulations in force and by the tax identity of the subjects participating in the auction.

Payment terms

For the purchase of works of art put up for auction, Apuliaaste offers all customers a deferred payment service for the works awarded.


This service is offered for a minimum amount of € 4,000.00 net of rights. The repayment will be made in a maximum of six months without interest.


The lots subject to installments will remain free of charge at the Apuliaaste headquarters and will be delivered to the buyer after the balance of the last installment.

Shipments of purchased works of art

Those who buy works of art and other objects from ApuliaAste can refer to the information on this page for the shipping operations of the same. The staff is always available to provide further clarifications and support sellers and buyers in defining the best ways to complete the operations.

Packing of items

For the shipments of works of art, ApuliaAste carefully packs each lot with shockproof materials. The cost is charged to the recipient, starting from € 30.00 and may vary depending on the size. The shipping service must be requested by fax or email from the successful bidder directly to ApuliaAste, who will then take care of the packaging and dispatch of the item.

How to collect lots

In the event that it is not possible to collect the lots personally, ApuliaAste suggests to always use safe, although economical, methods for shipments. This will allow you to be sure of receiving the purchased item quickly and in perfect condition.

The agency makes available all its experience in the sector to guarantee each buyer the fastest availability of the object and the maximum safety as regards the integrity of the packages delivered.
